In 1989 the idea of the internet, mobile computing devices, cell phones and the like were not a significant part of everyday life; today they are an integral part of everything we do.

Books for Kids will offer free books for kidsClearwater Academy International and The Community Learning Center have teamed up to sponsor a monthly event called Books for KidsFree books, that are new or gently used, are donated by the community and are given to any child that comes to the event.

What a game, what a season, what a team...

 
Clearwater Academy International, a local private school with 260 students enrolled, recently won the State Championship Trophy in the six-man tackle football league called FCAPPS: Florida Christian Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

The Clearwater Academy Knights - Photo by Scott ChincharThe Clearwater Academy Knights 6 man tackle football team is going to the State Championship this Saturday, November 14th 2009 at 7:30 p.m. In only their second season the Knights have risen to the top of the league and are going into the championship undefeated with a record of 12 straight wins.

This past Friday they took on the Haven Christian Lions at the Knights’ home field in Safety Harbor.  The team was pumped and ready to play in front of a crowd of 250 enthusiastic fans.

CCHR Florida Fight For Kids Award Event

Clearwater FL, (January 20) -  The Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida is hosting the “Fight for Kids” Award ceremony on Feb. 21, 2009.  The event will recognize parents, throughout Florida, who have gotten very active in educating others about the truth behind behavioral and learning “disorders”.  These parents have first-hand experience with their children having been diagnosed and labeled by psychiatry and what effect that had on their lives.

Actress Catherine Bell, best known for her for her role of Lt. Colonel Sarah MacKenzie of the 1995 to 2005 television show JAG, commenced the shotgun start at the Semi –Annual “Hackers Classic” Tournament at the Eastlake Woodlands Country Club. The tournament this year was generously sponsored by PostcardMania, Thermal Technologies Services, Inc. and Island View Estates.
