“In these difficult economic times, many individuals and organizations have asked us how they can help our community,” stated Bob Clifford, President/CEO of the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do that will make such a difference in the lives of area residents. I encourage everyone to learn how they can get more involved.”
“Make a Difference Day” is being held during National Volunteer Week (April 18 to April 24). Established in 1974 by former President Richard Nixon, National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage and make a difference in their community. Today, the entire month of April is recognized as National Volunteer Month with events held throughout the country to promote volunteerism.
