In the first week of the camp, students will study the story structure that makes films compelling. They will use exercises to create and try short vignettes to learn what works and what doesn't. They will also take an immersion course in cinematography with instructors demonstrating and sharing setting camera angles, lighting, and sound issues that the students will face when making their movies.
The first three days of the second week will be for shooting film. The instructors will divide the class into teams, with each team shooting its own original film. During the last two days students edit the movies and prepare them for exhibition. Finally, on the last day of camp, the students will show their movies to family and friends at the camp film festival.
