Clearwater, Fla. -- On November 18, 2008 Regency Oaks recognized more than 40 volunteers at a Volunteer Appreciation event held in the community’s Town Hall. Teecy Matthews of Volunteer USA Foundation, Tallahassee, keynoted the event and joined Regency Oaks in recognizing the volunteers with plaques.

In addition to individual volunteers, the following organizations were also recognized for the work they do in and around Clearwater: American Red Cross, The Haven, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater Veterans Appreciation Day Committee, Help A Child, Palm Harbor Library, Disabled American Veterans, VFW, JWV,  Neighborly Care Network, Senior Medicare Patrol Program, Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, All Children's Hospital North Pinellas Guild, Morton Plant Hospital Auxiliary, The Literacy Council of Upper Pinellas, American Cancer Society, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, CASA, Pinellas County Schools, RCS Food Bank, Regency Oaks’ Getting to Know You and Because We Care committees,  Regency Oaks Veterans Association, and Ambassadors of Regency Oaks.

The annual Volunteer Appreciation event was just one of several events hosted in November by Regency Oaks in appreciation of community leaders during this traditional month of Thanksgiving. Other events included a tribute to Veterans including a USO dance for residents and members of the community.
