The City of Clearwater will be participating in the Great American Cleanup by hosting a cleanup event Saturday, March 27 from 8 to 11 a.m. It will be held along the Courtney Campbell Parkway beach, and volunteers are needed.
While the abuse of illicit and prescription drugs endangers lives and families in cities across America, there are those who are striking back at the heart of this problem. For three days, September 25th – 27th, more than seventy volunteers organized by the Foundation for a Drug-Free World hit the streets throughout the Tampa Bay area, reaching Clearwater Beach, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Ybor City and Ocala with anti-drug educational brochures. The booklets they handed out, called The Truth About Drugs, educate young and old alike on the dangers and addictiveness of both illegal and over-the-counter drugs.
The 1st Annual Clearwater Super Boat Offshore National Championship and Festival is looking for volunteers to help out with the 80,000 people expected to attend over the weekend of October 2nd - 4th.
The Global Pioneers, a group of volunteer Scientologists, made a name for themselves last winter and spring by visiting the country of Haiti in order to help the people. They did this by supplying the means to grow their own food, providing computers, and giving books and training developed and written by L. Ron Hubbard to the people of Haiti so they could improve their living conditions.
Recently, the Global Volunteers returned to the island Haiti is on, but this time to the other side to visit the country of the Dominican Republic.
CLEARWATER, FL - Businesses, neighborhood associations, and other organizations with at least six members are invited to volunteer to work with the city on various outdoor service projects. Groups may do one project, multiple projects or participate in the adopt-a-park program. In exchange for their hard work, the group will experience the reward of making a visible difference that everyone can enjoy, and the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile.
The Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) is excited to announce: the 7th annual “Fashions with Flair” silent auction and fashion show fundraiser on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Belleair Country Club from 11 am to 2:30 pm.
CCV is the volunteer arm of the Church of Scientology in Clearwater, and is a non-profit charitable organization made up entirely of volunteers. The CCV produces the huge Easter Egg Hunt in Coachman Park in Clearwater every spring and “Winter Wonderland” – its annual holiday charity drive in downtown Clearwater featuring 5 village buildings, 90 live pine trees, a fully functioning stage with entertainment, tens of thousands of tiny white lights, pony & train rides, a playground, a giant slide and bouncy house, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus.
