On Wednesday, December 16th at 8:00 pm, the Florida Orchestra will perform with Cherish the Ladies for A Celtic Christmas. The event will take place at the Progress Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg.
Cherish the Ladies will join the Florida Orchestra for “A Celtic Christmas.” Cherish the Ladies is a traditional Irish music and dance group that had been called “passionate, tender and rambunctious” by the New York Times.
The concert will contain old-world airs and yuletide tunes, complete with Irish vocals, flutes, fiddles, guitar, banjo, mandolin, accordion and penny whistles. Irish step dancing will also be performed.
The Grammy nominated group, Cherish the Ladies, has recorded eleven albums, and has been selected at the Best Musical Group of the Year by the BBC. “On Christmas Night”, their Christmas Album was chosen as one of the top Christmas Albums of the Year.
