The Black Eyed Peas released their first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 in March, “Boom Boom Pow”, which became one of the top dozen longest charting singles in Hot 100 history, staying 12 weeks at the top. “Boom Boom Pow” was bumped out of #1 by another Black Eyes Peas single, “I Gotta Feeling”, which was released in June. “I Gotta Feeling” stayed at #1 for fourteen weeks, making the Black Eyed Peas the fourth group in Hot 100 history to replace themselves at #1.
Their latest album, The E.N.D. was released in June 2009, and features both “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling”. The E.N.D. has sold over 5.2 million CD’s worldwide, and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. The E.N.D. debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The Black Eyed Peas will be joined by opening acts Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and LMFAO. Ludacris’s next album, Battle of The Sexes, will be released this year on March 16th. Ludacris has one three Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album, and has appeared in two Academy-Award winning movies. Ludacris is Chairman and CEO of The Ludacris Foundation, a non-profit “dedicated to helping young people achieve their dreams through the encouragement of ‘Principles of Success’." Grammy nominated electro-rap group LMFAO is best known for their single, “I’m in Miami Trick.”
