Workshops include instruction in runway modeling, hair care and makeup, as well as often over-looked subjects, such as manners, audition etiquette and confidence. Students will leave the classes with confidence and self-esteem. “House of Ska is dedicated to providing students the tools to refine their skills into a successful career at an affordable value,” according to Ivanka. She will bring in professional photographers, stylists and make-up artists to enrich the training of the up and coming modeling community.
“The studio aspires to expand the network of local models and extend students’ marketability to larger national fashion centers,” she says. Ivanka, who moved to St. Petersburg from New York after she fell in love with the town on vacation, has become one of the local fashion industry’s most gregarious and generous cheerleaders. Last year, The House of Ska was a sponsor for the first ever Fashion Week Tampa Bay, and this year, Ivanka will offer a “Fashion Week Walk Off” practice, for old-pros and new faces alike.
