“Imagine you are taking your significant other out for another movie night,” says Daniel “Motown Pride” Jefferson the director of Got Jokes? Improv. “Once you get there you look to see what’s new. One of the movie selections catches your eye because it’s live interactive comedy for the same price as a movie ticket.”

That’s exactly what you will get at the Channelside Cinemas this Thursday, September 24th at 8:00pm. Got Jokes?, Tampa’s premier improv comedy group will be performing their live, interactive show at the venue the last Thursday of every month beginning in September. It will be a movie experience beyond high definition.

This autumn, the Cleveland Street District in Downtown Clearwater will be alive with events and concerts. Many events are free, and all of them are fun. Check out the schedule below to see what is happening.

St. Petersburg, Fla.  – The Backroom Short Film Festival will present their next festival on September 9th at NOVA 535 in St. Petersburg, Florida. This one-day festival will feature films from 2 – 7 minutes in length in three categories: inspiration/motivation, comedy and animation. Conversations with the filmmakers will be interspersed throughout the evening. It’s a visual and interactive evening of film, conversation, food and spirits.

While the days are still long and the dog days of August are still ahead of us, there’s time to see the extraordinary display of Pop Art at the local hot spot, Pangea Café, in downtown Clearwater. On the other hand, when you see school buses back on the roads in September you’ll know you’re too late if you haven’t made the pilgrimage to see the exhibition of artist, Lord Colin O’Neal.

Heritage Village recently was designated as one of the top five living history museums in Florida by "American Heritage" Magazine. The honor was announced in the magazine's Summer 2009 issue in the magazine's "Guide to Historic Sites in Florida" special section.
