The City of Clearwater recently earned a Green City certification from the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), a non-profit organization with the mission “to lead and promote sustainability with environmental, economic, and social benefits through regional education and certification programs,” according to their website.
The Official Legends Tour of the LPGA Open Championship came to the Innisbrook Golf Resort on the weekend of November 20th through the 22nd. The tour featured some of the greatest female golfers of all time competing for a $300,000 purse. Among the 100-plus members of the Legends Tour are 10 World Golf and LPGA Hall of Fame members.

Presented by Ford, the 2009 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 takes place Saturday, November 14, with participants swimming, biking and running 70.3 miles through Clearwater and its surrounding areas.

Florida Students Improve a Full Grade Level in 30 Hours
This October the Community Learning Center began its statewide tutoring program. The program utilizes the Applied Scholastics curriculum based on the Study Technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard, which helps children improve in the areas of reading and math.
