Fall of the House of UsherHalloween will be celebrated at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st at 7:30 pm with a Halloween double feature celebrating the 200th birthday of the master of mystery and the macabre: Edgar Allan Poe.

The Eckerd Theatre company will present Nightfall With Edgar Allan Poe, this haunting and highly theatrical staging of three of Poe’s best works, The Raven, The Fall of the House of Usher and The Tell-Tale Heart.  Produced with special arrangements from Playscripts, Inc. Edgar Allan Poe

Following Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe, the film The House of Usher will be shown. Edgar Allan Poe's overwhelming tale of evil and torment. The 1960 cult classic about one man's descent into madness was directed by Roger Corman and features the sinister Vincent Price.

The Haunted Hall, designed by Ruth Eckerd Hall's own Ian Beck, will be open.  Visitors will be able to go to the dark recess of their imagination, where things are not as they appear to be, and you can’t always believe your eyes, even if you could see.
