Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Micheal Spurlock was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 16 by the National Football League on December 29th. This marks the 26th time, including the third this season, that a Buccaneer has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He is also the third different return man for the Buccaneers to win the award this season.

Tampa FL (January 28, 2009) – The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer and ‘official home improvement sponsor’ of the National Football League, today announced Jason Witten as The Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP for the 2008 season. The Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP is a national program that recognizes players who are making a positive impact in their local communities through charitable programs and contributions.
Witten was chosen for the award through an online consumer voting contest, which received more than 250,000 votes nationwide. He was one of 17 NFL players honored through the program this year and one of eight program finalists. Warrick Dunn was honored as The Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP for the 2007 season.
Witten and the seven Neighborhood MVP finalists rolled up their sleeves today and worked alongside community and The Home Depot associate volunteers to build a state-of-the-art KaBOOM! playground for kids in East Tampa in just one day. In a break in the action, the players were recognized for their good works and Witten was announced the program MVP. A $25,000 donation was presented to Witten’s foundation.
Tampa FL, (January 23, 2009) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that season ticket prices for the upcoming 2009 National Football League campaign will remain the same as the 2008 season.
General season ticket prices for the 2009 season at Raymond James Stadium will be $99, $89, $85, $75, $65, $55, $50, and $42 per game. The $42.00 general season ticket price remains one of the lowest-priced tickets in the NFL. Club seat season pricing will also remain the same for 2009.
Fans are reminded that season ticket packages will reflect just nine games at Raymond James Stadium because of Tampa Bay’s game against New England in London on October 25, 2009.
Tampa FL, January 17, 2009 - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have named Raheem Morris head coach and Mark Dominik general manager.
Morris, who spent the past two seasons as the Buccaneers defensive backs coach, was promoted to defensive coordinator on December 25, 2008 before being named head coach. Overall, he has spent six seasons on the Buccaneers sideline in two stints with the club.
Morris has quickly risen through the Buccaneers coaching ranks during his time with the team, serving as defensive quality control coach in 2002,defensive assistant in 2003 and assistant defensive backs coach from 2004-2005 before taking over as defensive backs coach in 2007. During his first stint with the club, Morris worked closely with former Bucs defensive backs coach and current Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin in the development of one of the NFL’s top secondaries while also helping the Buccaneers capture their first ever world championship in Super Bowl XXXVII. In between stints in Tampa Bay, he spent 2006 as Kansas State’s defensive coordinator.
Tampa, FL (January 15, 2009) – The Glazer Family Foundation is donating $150,000 to the NFL Youth Education Towns (YETs) of Tampa Bay. The donation will help fund the recently completed Glazer Family Football Field at Mort Park.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new field at a 4 p.m. along with a press conference on Jan. 29 at Mort Park, featuring NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

RB SMITH NAMED NFC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Tampa FL, December 4, 2008 - The National Football League today announced that Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Clifton Smith was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for November. During the month of November, Smith had 11 punt returns for 199 yards (18.1 avg.) and one touchdown. He also registered 16 kickoff returns for 498 yards (31.1 avg.) and one touchdown. Smith’s punt return average of 18.1 yards this season ranks first in the NFL and his 31.1 yard kickoff return average ranks second in the NFL. He is also the only player in the NFL to have a kickoff return for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown this season.

Tampa FL, December 1, 2008 - The NFL’s International Series of regular-season games will return to the United Kingdom in 2009 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the New England Patriots, the NFL announced today. The game will be played on Sunday, October 25 at Wembley Stadium in London with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
