While prospective buyers visited the 31 Engle Homes sales centers around the state, they were invited to make a donation to breast cancer research. And they did—309 of them to be exact. "Engle Homes raising almost $13,000 for us is amazing! External events are truly important to Moffitt," commented Werner. "This type of effort shows us that not only are we doing our job, but major companies, like Engle Homes, are willing to help us find a cure for something that affects all of us—through a neighbor, a family member, or a friend."
As well as asking prospective homebuyers to donate to the worthwhile cause, Engle Homes guaranteed that the company itself would make a minimum donation of $5,000. And if 250 or more prospects made donations, in any dollar amount, Engle Homes vowed to increase their donation to $10,000. Plus, the homebuilder included a Healthy Living Package and below-market financing to all who purchased an Engle Home during the Engle Cares campaign.
Andy Chambers, division president for Engle Homes was thrilled with the results of the campaign and the overall awareness. "All of this might not produce immediate sales but when new prospects came in, we were able to talk about the campaign and they could relate because almost everyone knew someone with breast cancer. And we were able to create more of a relationship because of that common bond," stated Chambers. "People were glad to see that Engle Homes cares about more than selling homes. They saw that we’re not just builders, and sales persons, we're real people just like they are. Doing our jobs and caring for our communities."
