Clearwater Academy International and The Community Learning Center have teamed up to sponsor a monthly event called Books for Kids. Free books, that are new or gently used, are donated by the community and are given to any child that comes to the event.
Florida Students Improve a Full Grade Level in 30 Hours
This October the Community Learning Center began its statewide tutoring program. The program utilizes the Applied Scholastics curriculum based on the Study Technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard, which helps children improve in the areas of reading and math.

Boys and girls from the Community Learning Center, 1611 N. Ft. Harrison Ave., took pen in hand and wrote original poetry for the first downtown Clearwater Poetry Walk to be held on April 19th. "The hotel is a toy box," wrote Dakota Frank, age 8, and "the rainbow turns into a river up in the sky." Elizabeth Ann Gubola, age 6, provided a poem about riding a lion.
