Because of the fireworks, the Memorial Causeway Bridge will be closed from 9:15 to 10:15, so bridge delays can be expected. But they are well worth it upon hearing the pops and the "oohs" and "ahs" from the crowd, or seeing bright splashes of red, white and blue light up the sky.
Independence Day celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776, which declared our independence from Great Britain. Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, our forefathers stood up and boldly spoke up for what they believe and spoke out against tyranny so today, the grandchildren of their grandchildren could have a life of freedom in a country with “liberty and justice for all.” Since then, Americans have been free to celebrate this historical moment and it is traditionally done with food, fireworks and music, all of which will be there in Coachman Park.
So come to Coachman Park, located at 301 Drew Street and celebrate what it means to be an American, with fireworks over Clearwater Bay this Fourth of July.
