The Little Book of Cleveland Street Poetry Volume II will be released, featuring poems about downtown Clearwater and life in Florida, written by nearly 50 local poets, residents, shop owners, community leaders and will include a special section of youth poetry by Community Learning Center students.
At 6:00pm The Poetry Walk will conclude with a party at the new Artists in Action's Mission: Beautification Gallery, 400 Cleveland Street. The gala will include an open mic poetry reading, refreshments, prize drawings and social mingling.
Readings during the day will be hosted by poets Larry Jaffe, Stazja McFadyen, editor and publisher of PoEmPath and Alan Graham, host of the monthly Poetry by Candlelight.
Last year, Mayor Frank Hibbard issued a proclamation naming April 19th, 2008 "Clearwater Poetry Day." With this year's event, the Annual Poetry Walk becomes a Clearwater tradition.
