Food Inc by Robert Kenner Plays at the Tampa Theatre This AugustRobert Kenner’s  Food Inc., is a penetrating and scary look at the path our food is traveling to get to us. The food industry slams us with their messages of “eat our food”  Now we have someone fighting back with the truth about our food with the help of nutrition activists, including Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation) and Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma). High-fructose corn syrup and its friend the E.coli virus are declaring war on national health, and federal agencies, lobbied by Big Agriculture, ain't doing a thing to stop it. Reason? Profits. The movie offers solid alternatives. If the way to an audience's heart is through its stomach, Food, Inc. is a movie you're going to love.

The truth is pretty grim as to what is happening to our food supply.  I grew up in the Illinois farm country as a boy and have family there still.  I thought I had an idea, but I had no idea how bad it has gotten in the last 20 years.   A lot has changed in the structure of how we get our food.  The health of the nation and the illness and sickness increases are NOT going to be slowed by Big Pharma and Big Agri – and because of the massive lobby of these two – you need to get educated on what you can do so you are not a victim as well.  This film will help you on that journey.

Who has touched your food? Food Inc. knows.

The food that you got from the grocery store today, where did it come from?  Where has it been?  How safe is it?  Which groups are you supporting when you buy this food? Food Inc. can tell you.

We don’t ask these questions of ourselves very often, if at all, do we?    Where would you look for the answers to these questions anyhow? Food Inc. will show you where to look.

Food Inc. is showing at the Tampa Theatre until September 12th. Go to www.TampaTheatre.org  for more information on showtimes.  The Tampa Theatre is located on 711 N Franklin St in downtown Tampa.
