CLEARWATER - The Community Learning Center (CLC), which has been offering tutoring and study skills to individuals and families throughout Tampa Bay for over 10 years is launching an exciting new program - the Community Cookbook.
The Community Cookbook is a special project to get community members to submit their very best recipes to be included in the book. The cookbook is scheduled to be released in time for Mother's Day. In addition to the recipes local businesses are being encouraged to place very reasonably priced ads in the publication.
"This will be a fun and simple way to generate a tremendous amount of community participation as well as financial resources for local non-profits and schools to continue to deliver quality programming for young people"
stated Nirvana Cooke, one of the project organizers.
Adding a recipe to the cookbook is completely free of charge, and very easy to do. The organizers are conducting postcard mailings, thousands of phone calls as well as direct solicitation from area opinion leaders.
This is the largest community outreach project the CLC has done in it's 10 year history" Brendan Haggerty Executive Director stated. "We are very excited about the reaction it has gotten so far from citizens as well as other non-profits that can benefit."

You can submit your recipes in several ways. You can simply e-mail them directly to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , fax them to (727)797-3643 or go to the website www.communitycookbook.org and enter them online.
Please remember to include your name, organization, business and/or title to the recipe submission. Each recipe will be personalized from the contributor adding to the community nature of the book.
The project helps fund future community projects sponsored by the Community Learning Center as well as all the participating schools who adopt this activity.
The Community Cookbook will be made available to the public well before Mothers Day, making it something extra special for all the mothers out there.
