What are “The CCV Ladies” up to Now? Supporting Our Troops and More… “We are making something called ‘coolie ties’—5,600 of them to be exact—for the troops in Iraq. They are basically tubes that tie around the neck and have little pellets in them (the kind you can put in your plants). When you soak them in water, the pellets expand and hold onto the water and voila - you have a cool neck!” These competent ladies from the Clearwater Community Volunteers meet every week and work all year round to create Downtown Clearwater’s Winter Wonderland, the Easter Egg Hunt in Coachman Park, Fashions with Flair and Spa Day.
This past Christmas, CCV decided it was time to do something for our troops. They collected money at Winter Wonderland for gifts to be sent to an Army platoon that they had adopted in Iraq. Every two months since then, CCV has put together 7–10 boxes of home-baked goodies, Girl Scout Cookies, toiletries, batteries, magazines, and many more items the troops have requested – all to make their stint in the Middle East more To get more information about the Clearwater Community Volunteers, email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
