Old Palm Harbor Main Street has taken to heart the requests, concerns, and ideas from the local residents as well as businesses, and other organizations wanting to utilize the historic district for a variety of events, festivals and fairs.

According to Robin Husbands-Cauchi, Executive Director, a couple of objectives of  the Main Street Program is  to support local merchants by bringing diverse audiences to the area and supplying activities that are more family friendly, Old Palm Harbor Main Street will be revamping First Fridays’.   To attract families and a broader audience, First Friday Celebrations will have a theme.  April will begin with a Fitness Expo!  You can expect exhibitions from fitness facilities such as the Wellness Center in Palm Harbor, Impact Health, Pro Karate Center, and Family Fitness in Dunedin.  John Kent, founder and Director of North Pinellas Boot Camp for Women will be holding a “Welcome to Your Transformation” seminar.  May will be titled “Talent Under the Stars” and will feature dance troupes and other performing arts talents from pre-school age through adults.  Jennifer Deckleman, one of the areas most renowned performing arts instructors is assisting Main Street in recruitment and organizing this wonderful evening of family fun.

All First Friday’s will still offer unique vendors, food, beverages for all ages, and a children’s’ play area.

In efforts to support other organizations requests to utilize the district, First Fridays’ will be limited to 8 out of 12 months.  The months you can enjoy a relaxed, entertaining First Friday event will be February, March, April, May, August, September, October, and November.  In the months that First Friday takes a break, you can look forward to The Palm Harbor Parrot Head Party held on June 7, 2008, exciting Arts and Crafts shows, and festivals that are now in the planning stages.

Whether you are celebrating quality time with your family, the end of a long, productive week, or looking for something to do with friends First Friday Celebrations and other fun-filled events held in the downtown historic district are perfect ways to spend your weekend.  Most events are pet friendly and all are open to the public.

Old Palm Harbor Main Street is a Non-Profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserve and enhance the quality of life and business in Downtown Palm Harbor.   You are encouraged to visit the website www.oldpalmharbormainstreet.net for more information.
