Clearwater Jazz Holiday Announces 2nd Annual Clearwater Jazz N Art Walk Oct 17 & 18 2009

Clearwater Jazz Holiday is proud to announce the Second Annual Clearwater Jazz ’N Art Walk in downtown Clearwater, October 17th and 18th from 10AM – 5PM.

Each year more than 60,000 visitors come to Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater to enjoy 4 days & nights of FREE Jazz by some of today’s greats. The visitor experience is complemented by the Clearwater area’s mild fall weather, miles of world-famous Gulf beaches, brilliant sunsets, nearby attractions, accommodations and dining to suit every taste and budget.

An added dimension to this year’s event, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation is producing an art show on the 500 & 600 block of Cleveland St. from Ft. Harrison to East Avenue. Artwork from  different mediums will be on display and for sale to the general public. The Clearwater Jazz ’N Art Walk will offer a $5000 total purse for the top 3 artists selected by a panel of judges. FREE to the public, the Clearwater Jazz N Art Walk is part of the ongoing efforts by the Clearwater Jazz Holiday to bring more of the activity to downtown’s main street area. 

Along with the great art displayed, performances will take place each day on the GTE Federal Credit Union Stage; scheduled to perform; The Bus Stop Band with Chello, Suite Caroline, Level 10, Ruth Eckerd Hall Jazz Lab Band, The Alan Darcy Experience and The Hy Notes. Also the Clearwater Jazz N Art Walk will prominently feature student art as part of Jazz Holiday’s continued commitment to education in the area of jazz music and the arts. The Kids Educational Zone, in cooperation with the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, will be located in Station Square and will feature children art along with hands on activities and shows each day for the family to enjoy.

The Clearwater Jazz N Art Walk is a collaboration between the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation, City of Clearwater and the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Jazz Force, the all volunteer staff.
