To highlight the importance of the significance of this issue, Poets for Human Rights is issuing a call for entries for their two contests.
The 4th Annual Anita McAndrews Award Poetry Contest Anita McAndrews, was not only an author and poet, journalist, artist and Clearwater Beach resident, but also a supporter of writers and artists. In 2006, her seven children established this award to commemorate her efforts as a human rights advocate which epitomizes the spirit of Poets for Human Rights.
Send reading fee and two copies of each entry, one with your name and contact information, and one copy without name.

The 4th Annual Alexander Popoff Youth Award Poetry Contest
Theme: Inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The winning poem will be announced on Dec. 12, 2009 at Poets For Human Rights' annual awards event, in Clearwater, Florida. To familiarize yourself with the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, visit http://www.youthforhumanrights.org/ to watch the 30 short videos.
