Where the Wild Thing Are on IMAX Comes to MOSI on Nov 7

Where the Wild Things Are, Spike Jonze’s big screen adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s beloved children’s book, will be screened in the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI)’s Imax Dome Theatre. Starting on November 7th, fans of all ages will set sail alongside young Max to the captivating world of the “Wild Things” for a larger-than-life cinematic journey as only IMAX can deliver.

Where the Wild Things Are tells the story of Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy who feels misunderstood at home and escapes to where the Wild Things are. Max lands on an island where he meets mysterious and strange creatures whose emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions. The Wild Things desperately long for a leader to guide them, just as Max longs for a kingdom to rule. When Max is crowned king, he promises to create a place where everyone will be happy. Max soon finds, though, that ruling his kingdom is not so easy and his relationships there prove to be more complicated than he originally thought. The feature length film is based on Maurice Sendak’s classic book, which is only six sentences long, yet manages to capture the spirit of the book completely. 

And has been described as “a classic story about childhood and the places we go to figure out the world we live in.”

Where the Wild Things Are has been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality through technology. The IMAX experience will deliver crystal clear images, laser-aligned digital sound, and a maximized field of view, creating the world’s most immersive movie experience.
