                         Ray Paul's Painting

CLEARWATER, FL - This summer, both Clearwater City Hall and the Clearwater Main Library will be displaying public art.

Large format abstract paintings by artist Ray Paul will be featured in a Clearwater art exhibit in the Clearwater City Hall lobby as part of a city program to place the works of local artists in public spaces.

Paul’s works use powerful brushstrokes to combine bold splashes of color with finely-contrasting details.  His work has been exhibited extensively throughout the Southeast and in New York City.

This free, public exhibit will be on view June 1 to August 28 except holidays, in the at 112 S. Osceola Avenue. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

From June 3rd to August 27th, summer art exhibits will be on display in the Clearwater Main Library’s galleries. Featured exhibits include:

- Exploring the Portal: television-based photographs by artist Taylor Oliver. Oliver selectively photographs the random distortions in broadcast images to produce painterly results. These photographs will be on display in the Osceola Gallery.  Julie Leiman Weaver's Painting

- Summer Impressions, Winter Dreams: pastel paintings on sanded paper by plein air artist Julie Leiman Weaver. Weaver stated, “Living in Florida, summer impressions are all around us. Because I grew up in New England, winter holds special memories for me. These paintings represent my love of painting the landscape in a variety of places and climates. Each painting holds a special impression or memory from a time or place I've been to in the past few years.” These paintings will be on display in the Carnegie Gallery.

The galleries are open Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. The Clearwater Main Library is located at 100 N. Osceola Ave.
