Humane Society of PinellasThe Humane Society of Pinellas (HSP) will be holding their signature event, the Mutt Strut on beautiful Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin, FL on Saturday, March 20th from 10 am until 3 pm.  This event offers a fun and relaxed environment with plenty of vendors, games and hundreds of participants for the mile long strut along the Osprey Trail at noon - on the nose.

The Mutt Strut offers a fun and entertaining event for everyone!   Expect to find over 50 vendors offering a wide variety of services and products for both you and your pet.  There will also be pet games, agility and obedience demonstrations, plenty of themed Chinese Raffle baskets to choose from, prizes, and rescue groups.  This is sure to be a great day to STRUT YOUR MUTT!  Don’t forget to check out the adorable adoptable HSP dogs that will be joining at the Mutt Strut.

Millie Esterline and Jeff Zhu of Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be honored for their concept and implementation  of the PCSO C.A.R.E.S. program reuniting lost pets with their owners, and Officer Barbara Baugher and K-9 Officer ‘T-Rex’ of the Pinellas County Schools Police Department.  T-Rex came from HSP shelter and now partners with Officer Baugher keeping our schools safe.  The plaque presentation will take place at 11:30 AM.

This annual event is HSP’s biggest fundraiser because of public support in celebrating a fun day with their dog(s).  Funds are raised through the pledges from individuals and “packs” of participants, vendors and sponsorships.  Prizes will be awarded to those that raise the most money as an individual and as a pack.   The first 300 walkers with at least a $10 donation will receive a Wag Bag filled with goodies valued at over $40!  Raise a minimum $20 per individual and ALSO receive an event T-Shirt for yourself and bandana for your pet!  You can download registration forms from our website at www.humanesocietyofpinellas.org on the events page and at the Humane Society of Pinellas, 3040 State Road 590, 727-797-7722, in Clearwater.
